Sunset Sound System Announces Phase Two Lineup for Tenth Anniversary of Sunset Campout

Today Sunset Campout has announced the phase two lineup for its ten year anniversary celebration, maintaining its standing as a curatorial beacon within the North American electronic music scene. The gathering touches down at the idyllic Belden Town Resort on July 26-29, where it’s set to host some of the most forward-thinking acts from all corners of the global electronic music scene.
Parisienne trailblazer and Panorama Bar regular Jennifer Cardini will be bringing her polished blend of house, disco, and techno to the Sunset Campout floor, while New York’s Thugfucker offers up a fluid, psychedelic touch to the proceedings. American underground excellence continues with a live set from Pillowtalk, plus performances from Mesmé, Anthony Mansfield, and James Glass. Sunset’s avant garde shades will be represented by Gilb’r, Mrs. Blythe, and Brother Nebula.
West Coast programming continues with plenty of Bay Area and Los Angeles legends joining the fray. Cole, dAvi A., Tyrel Williams, Jimmy B, and Tyrel Williams make up the rest of the San Francisco contingent, while Warehouse Preservation Society and John Bryars rounds out the Southern California showing.
These phase two additions join an already stellar billing which includes leftfield legends like Running Back boss Gerd Janson, German electronic chameleon Roman Flügel, Dekmantel favorite Lena Wilikens, American house forerunner Octo Octa (Live), Minimal Wave’s Marie Davidson, and UK underground mainstay Felix Dickinson.
Sunset Sound System was created with one guiding principle in mind: to throw the best party possible. As such, its founding members — Galen and Solar — have been able to play some of the best events to ever go down on the West Coast. With their contrasting styles offering a glimpse into both sides of Sunset’s sonic spectrum, their annual Campout sets have become something of legend for community members new and old.
It remains Campout’s unique location that make it one of nation’s most celebrated gatherings. Belden Town offers attendees a lush wooded oasis on the iconic Feather River, making way for warm days spent floating next to the event’s Beach Stage or dancing all night under the canopy of the Sunset stage.
In Sunset Sound System founder Galen Abbot’s own words, “It’s been an inspiring yet challenging journey curating the Sunset Campout to grow and thrive in such an intimate and beautiful location. But, what truly makes it a special experience is how everyone from our production and operations staff, to the artists and musicians, to all the attendees and volunteers come together in a unified conscious mindset to create an authentic and connected weekend together.”
The true magic of the Sunset experience comes from the spreading of the curatorial drive of Galen and Solar through the wide-reaching wonder of the greater Sunset community. The result is a sonic and artistic hub where all are welcome to dance and celebrate the strange and the beautiful.
